Dissociation Therapy & Parts-Informed EMDR

If you’re reading this, you may feel disconnected from yourself—like you’re watching your life from the outside, or that the world around you doesn’t feel real. You might notice gaps in memory or time, sudden shifts in emotions, or parts of yourself that feel separate, hidden, or even in conflict. These experiences—depersonalization, derealization, or structural dissociation—are often your mind’s way of protecting you from overwhelming experiences. For some, these protective patterns take the form of distinct identities, as seen in dissociative identity disorder (DID). I can help you in recognizing the onset of dissociative episodes, and staying grounded in your body, helping you teach and remind your body that you are safe in the present moment.

We all have different parts of ourselves, regardless of issues of dissociative issues. In parts-informed EMDR therapy, we meet every part of you with curiosity and compassion. Each part has a role, a story, and a purpose. Sometimes, these parts are stuck in time, when trauma happened to us. EMDR helps process the painful memories that keep parts of you stuck, while parts work helps you communicate, understand, and integrate them safely. Together, this approach empowers you to reclaim your life, feel grounded in your body and emotions, and reconnect with a sense of wholeness and strength you may have thought was lost. Healing isn’t about erasing the past—it’s about giving every part of you a voice, a place, and a path forward.
